Today, I came across a pretty good article in the Burlington NC Times News about workers’ compensation fraud. The article described two cases of fraud, one being the Carl Dale Fuller case I have blogged about on a couple of occasions. It was good to see a paper report on workers’ comp fraud and address more than just allegations against workers. The paper identified five different types of workers’ comp fraud: benefit fraud, insurance carrier fraud, employer premium fraud, health-care provider fraud and attorney fraud. Unfortunately most of the attention is paid to the employee fraud, and not much to the much bigger issue of employer premium fraud.
